The Farm to School Collective

The Farm to School Collective is a group of school districts holding a coordinated Farm to School marketing campaign to promote Farm to School activities happening across San Diego County.

The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness of Farm to School activities (i.e., school gardens, nutrition education, and nutritious school meals) provided by Farm to School Collective school districts. The campaign focuses on continuous improvements in school meals designed to increase access to healthy, local foods.

The Farm to School Collective also works to mobilize advocates to show support for Farm to School and school meal programs, both of which are important in addressing hunger and obesity, improving academic performance, and supporting local farmers, among other benefits.

The Farm 2 School Collective consists of the following San Diego local school districts: Cajon Valley Union, Escondido Union, Julian Union, Lakeside Union, La Mesa-Spring Valley, Santee, San Diego Unified, San Ysidro, and Sweetwater Union High.

In partnership with The Farm to Institution Center and Dunk Tank Marketing, these eight school districts are working towards shifting the perception of school food within their communities.
